We are currently recruiting for a talented and experienced Pricing Analyst in our Toronto office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABLITIES
Own National Pricing Grid, the single source of 'truth' for pricing, and partner with provinces to ensure the grid is always accurate and updated for retail prices and revenue generated.
Manage and lead the Pricing Approval process for existing and new products across Canada. Review new products for fit into business strategy. Ensure margin and profitability targets are being met.
Establish relationships with provincial liquor boards. Maintain updated copies of Provincial Pricing calculators to ensure that updated freight, excise, customs and markup rates are captured and reflected in shelf prices.
Conduct strategic price band analysis and competition pricing analysis to look for opportunities and present recommendations to senior management.
Support financial planning and analysis team by providing input regarding product level revenue during annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
Be the central point of contact for entire Canadian team regarding costs of goods. The pricing analyst will work closely with Napa head office Supply team on all costing related topics.
Analyze monthly results for actual costs and ensure they are in line with budget costs, highlight material variances and provide commentary. Review and analyze various cost trends over time.
Perform monthly margin analysis using actual results, ensure budget targets are being met, highlight and explain major variances.
Be aware of and understand how macro factors like changes in raw materials costs, changes in government policies (liquor tax, customs) could affect costs and profit margins.
Identify weaknesses in existing processes & internal controls and make recommendations for improvements.\
Work on other projects and deliverables as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor degree in finance or accounting
Detailed oriented, strong multi-tasking and time management skills combined with initiative and flexibility
Ability to manage large quantities of data
Advanced technical skills including Excel, VBA for Excel, MS Access. Quick learner and comfortable regarding new processes, information systems, etc
Advanced analytical skills and problem solving abilities
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Ability work in a "hands on" capacity
Strong relationship skills - effectively able to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
Team player with the facility to work independently
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high volume and changing environment, paired with a "roll up the sleeves" attitude
Strong desire to contribute to the continued growth of the company
A minimum of 2 to 3 years experience in a pricing analyst / costing analyst role
Solid revenue/margin analysis skills with proven experience in pricing
Good understanding of financial statements and prior experience in financial statement analysis and presenting management with recommendations on "opportunities"
Beverage & Alcohol / Consumer Packaged Good industry experience would be an asset
